DownTown Mystic Give His Classic Cuts a New Kick on Latest EP On E Street (Remix)

Regular readers will no doubt already be familiar with Robert Allen, the New Jersey-based rocker and visionary behind DownTown Mystic. Savoy Truffle Tunes had the pleasure of reviewing Robert's recent EP, Mystic Highway, and even got the chance to interview the veteran musician. Bottom line? We're fans!

DownTown Mystic's brand new offering is a six-track EP titled On E Street (Remix). Teaming up, once again, with the literal rhythm section of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Robert's latest release revisits key moments from his catalogue. Originally recorded in the early 80s, the artist recently connected with engineer Joe DeMaio to remix the songs at Shorefire Recording Studio, New Jersey's longest operating recording studio.

The thought-provoking Way To Know gets the EP underway with infectious energy and a classic rock vibe, before making way for the sweet and emotionally intense sounds of And You Know Why.

Hard Enough is the album's title track - an exhilarating and anthemic sonic ride that's hard not to air guitar along to. And then there's its successor, Sometimes Wrong, which delivers in much the same explosive fashion!

Different versions of And You Know Why and Way To Know complete the EP, and they're two tunes for you to discover and absorb all on your own. Enjoy 😊
