Eddie Cohn Delivers Bare-Bones Honesty on Thought-Provoking New Single Weight of the World

Cards on the table…I've been following Eddie Cohn's work for over two years. His energetic earworm Who or What I Was Before set in motion my sonic love affair with his music, and frankly, I haven't looked back since. Tunes like Wave Goodbye, Wheels Stop, and Get Back My Way have soundtracked my day-to-day life, and so today, I am honoured to introduce you to the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter's latest single, Weight of the World. Let's dive in, shall we?

Short and sweet, though by no means lacking substance, Eddie's new track is stripped of excess and unnecessary fanfare. "I really leaned into a more bare bones approach to the production of this song," he admits.

Pieced together both remotely and in the studio, Weight of the World, I suppose, is a classic rock song. The problem is, it's also a tune that clearly isn't looking to be labelled. Through layered vocals, rich instrumentals, and some fantastic guitar work courtesy of Brett Farkas, it's a song that exists on its own terms - cutting through the noise with confidence and conviction.

As for the track's meaning, Weight of the World sees Eddie exploring the idea of mental "clutter". "I wonder if the constant hum of info and news feeds is too much for our minds and our ability to relax?" he asks. For what it's worth, my answer is a resounding yes.
