Facing Demons, Finding Light: Andy Oliver and Rupert Hill Craft a Gentle Masterpiece with Dying Glow

Dying Glow is one of the most hauntingly beautiful little tunes I've heard in some time, and it comes courtesy of two singer/songwriters and longtime friends, Andy Oliver and Rupert Hill. Sending bits and pieces to one another across the Irish Sea, the pair were never actually in the studio together at any point, but there's no distance detected when it comes to the song's gentle cohesion and seamless musicianship.

A track born out of a shared band over past struggles with addiction, Dying Glow sees Andy and Rupert reflecting on their previous battles with alcohol.

"We wanted to write something that spoke to our struggles without being too preachy in the content," says the pair. "It's not someone writing about their opinion of addiction, it is the path we walk and the journey that got us through".

Raw and delicate, honest and pure, Dying Glow is two artists facing their demons and moving on with their lives. It's art of the very highest order, with an instantly timeless and classic feel. Destined to endure across generations, this heartfelt tune is unquestionably one of my favourite new finds of the year so far!
