Fantasías Finds Emy Woods Blending Dream Pop and Latin Influences with Effortless Style

Last year, Seattle-based singer/songwriter Emy Woods delivered her first two official singles. Born in a small coastal town in Puerto Rico, Emy's sound is shaped by years of classical vocal training and Latin influences, but those roots are just the beginning of her sonic story. Dirán Alto (They Will Say Stop) and Borrar Tu Adiós (To Erase Your Goodbye) marked her first steps as a recording artist - and now both tunes have found a home on her debut EP, Fantasías.

A five-track offering filled with vintage textures and heartfelt storytelling, Fantasías has a timeless spirit. The fusion of warm analog-inspired production, shimmering guitars, and the emotionally driven Spanish vocals of its creator gives the EP an intimate and wonderfully inviting quality.

Inspired by artists who blur the lines between indie rock, dream pop, and alternative Latin music, Emy Woods has carved out a sweet spot between all three. There are hints of Men I Trust and notes of Mazzy Star in her sound, alongside artists like Natalia Lafourcade and Carla Morrison who, I'll admit, are new names to me.

Cards on the table…It's extremely rare for a non-English language record to pull me in quite like Fantasías has. I've fallen hard - and I cannot wait to hear what Emy gets up to next!
