FIELD OF ONE Proves Alan Mair Has Lost None of His Songwriting Edge

Alan Mair is best known as a founding member of the iconic London rock band The Only Ones - a group that inspired everyone from Blur and Nirvana to The Replacements and The Libertines. His influence on modern rock is unquestionable, and as a solo artist, he's also made quite an impression. Sure, his releases are few and far between, but I believe what we have here is a classic case of quality over quantity. And so, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to FIELD OF ONE, Alan's rich, emotive, and hugely compelling new album.

Twelve tracks that showcase the musician's fearless approach to songwriting, FIELD OF ONE is alternative rock at its finest. Covering all the trials and tribulations of life through hypnotic rhythms and cinematic textures that conjure the strange, shadowy world of a David Lynch soundtrack, Alan's latest offering is a dark and intriguing triumph.

Personal favourites include the timeless sounds of Nothing Is Impossible, the eerie and haunting brilliance of In The River, and the record's utterly absorbing lead single, How Could I Let This Happen. That said, I'd be doing FIELD OF ONE a serious disservice if I stopped at those three. This is an album best experienced in full. It's pure, potent, and profoundly moving!
