Leicestershire-based act, The Gerry Farrow Band, were among my brightest musical discoveries in 2024. They were putting out some seriously evocative and powerful music, and I particularly fell in love with Gerry Farrow's soulful and hauntingly intimate vocals. 

So, you can imagine my excitement when I recently came across a tune called Time To Let Her Go, courtesy of Gerry Farrow and Rue Randall. A genius and utterly beautiful little song that takes one back to the glory days of heartfelt songwriting, it wraps you up in a glow of nostalgia that's simply irresistible.

Telling the tale of a relationship where age never seemed to matter - until life, time, and experience began to expose the cracks, Time To Let Her Go paints a vivid picture of love caught between then and now. Poignant and deeply immersive, it resonates with a devastating honesty.

Enhanced by the use of vinyl records and a moving brass ensemble, Gerry Farrow and Rue Randall's offering has a timeless and weathered aura. Emotionally weighty and achingly human, it's a tune that leaves a mark, echoing in your head long after its final note. My only hope is this: these two get together again very soon!
