Manicure for the Strangers Sees The Vildes Perfect Their Electropop Formula

Ingvild Tafjord, Hilde Wahl, and Glenn Tvedt are the brains behind The Vildes, a sparkling and dynamic electropop trio hailing from Norway. Less than two months ago, the threesome delivered their debut single in the form of Serpents. A bouncy and chewy piece of pop goodness, the tune is fast approaching 30,000 Spotify plays.

Now, following up on such a successful release (especially a debut) can obviously be daunting. I imagine it must be hard not to overthink and second-guess things. Thankfully, however, The Vildes have taken that pressure in their stride.

Introducing Manicure for the Strangers, the outfit's brand new single. Lush, hypnotic, and expertly assembled, it's a track that sees the act continue to explore emotionally driven songwriting. Diving into topics like self-protection and modern disconnection over a shiny and synth-soaked soundscape, the band's new offering is the perfect successor to Serpents

It also feels like a statement of intent: The Vildes know they have the goods, and now they're just preparing us for what's to come.

Clocking in at just over three minutes, Manicure for the Strangers is a concise masterclass in modern electropop. Full of depth and colour, it firmly establishes The Vildes as ones to keep a very close eye (and ear) on going forward!
