Getting Started Stake Their Claim with Mature Self-Titled Debut Album

Hailing from Chicago, Getting Started is a five-piece indie rock outfit who have just delivered their energetic and anthem-filled self-titled debut album. A ten-track offering that marks the culmination of two years of a waterfall release, the record is both a victory lap and a statement of intent from a hugely impressive act.

Easy Sympathy gets the ball rolling and sets the tone beautifully for the rest of the album. A slow-burning and stirring piece of music, it's the perfect welcome to Getting Started's sonic sphere.

Take Care then steps up to the plate with a grungy and almost punk vibe. It's a great showcase of the band's versatility and paves the way for Anywhere, a tune originally released in 2024. As perhaps the most "radio-friendly" song on the record, Anywhere has a little something for everyone to enjoy, similar to its successor, the utterly intoxicating Telling Myself Tomorrow.

Other personal favourites from the album include the genius little ditty 30 Years, the heartfelt and emotional warmth of One Road, and the record's closer (and very first Getting Started single) Reverberations.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Gravity Studios alongside Danny Patt, this debut album is one of the finest I've heard this year. I just hope the fellas have big plans for 2026!
