Heartfelt and Stripped-Back, Madelaine Showcases Patience Please’s Musical Depth

Madelaine is the first release of the new year from London-based indie-pop trio Patience Please, and it's a warm, intimate, and stripped-back offering that showcases the outfit's versatility.

Delivering a more delicate and emotive sound than previous singles, Madelaine serves as a deeply personal reflection on first heartbreak.

"This song was written in a relaxed, open, and vulnerable state," admits lead singer Ollie Palmer. "I felt free to spill my thoughts onto the page without judgement."

Led by driving rhythm guitar and Ollie's lush, welcoming vocals, the band's latest tune gives itself room to blossom and expand. Littered with subtle strings throughout that hint at a climactic finale, Madelaine builds towards a devastatingly heartbreaking crescendo, before drifting softly into the ether.

A song taken from Patience Please's forthcoming debut album, scheduled for release next month, Madelaine is a perfect teaser for what's to come. It reveals an act unafraid of going where the music takes them, regardless of current trends or fads. And, with nearly 3,000 plays on Spotify in under two weeks, it's clear that listeners are already falling in love with what the trio has to offer!
