Heavy Grooves and Hypnotic Energy Drive Weak Trees’ Latest Single Animal
Hailing from Finland, Weak Trees is a musical trio formed by twin brothers Juuso and Joonas Heiskanen. With Antti Erola on bass, the three musicians craft a mesmerising blend of grungy alternative stoner rock, a mix masterfully showcased on their brand new single, Animal.
Raw, hypnotic, and drenched in heavy grooves, Animal was recorded in the band's DIY garage studio, giving it that authentic, lived-in sound that I'm finding so appealing. It captures the very essence of what Weak Trees are all about: sweetly distorted riffs, pounding drums, and soaring, Layne Staley-esque vocals.
A tune that recounts a true story of drunken snowy nights and loyal companions, Animal is a celebration of the dogs who've walked beside us through thick and thin - past and present. Acknowledging their role in shaping our adventures, it's a track that carries the same drive and spirit as our canine companions.
If the latest offering from Weak Trees is up your sonic alley, you'll be happy to know that the outfit released their debut album, Unsuffering, at the beginning of this year. And, after just one run-through of the record, I'm seriously impressed. The raw power this band possesses is truly something to behold.
