THORN’s THE PEOPLE Cuts Through the Noise with Industrial Edge and Brutal Honesty

A track partly recorded on the streets of London, where the artist was sleeping rough, THE PEOPLE is a hard-hitting piece of industrial rock that fires on all cylinders. Courtesy of Teignmouth-based musician Charlie Thorn, better known simply as THORN, the raw and gritty composition mirrors the song’s uncompromising message. A study on the real face of humanity from the perspective of someone living on the streets, it cuts through the bullshit with brutal honesty.

Inspired by the likes of Tom Waits, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie, THORN makes use of multi-layered drums, dark synths, and distorted electric guitars to bring THE PEOPLE to life. Add the artist's weathered, haunting vocals to the equation, and a sample of Ronald Reagan's We the People, and what you get is a sonic assault on the senses that makes you stand up and pay attention.

As the start of a new series of singles, THE PEOPLE is a glimpse into THORN's vision moving forward - one defined by the darker face of humanity, harsh truths, and abrasive textures. Unafraid to explore the uglier sides of the human condition, Charlie Thorn leans into discomfort, and in doing so, has created one of the most intriguing and intense pieces of music I've heard this year.
