Immerse Yourself in Ellery Twining’s Cinematic Composition Secret Aspects of The New World

The first time I encountered Ellery Twining's work was when I stumbled across a two-single release from a Connecticut-based act called Delta of Venus. The tunes in question were Disengaged and Slipping, and both tracks gave me a glimpse into the sonic world Ellery was building. Needless to say, I was intrigued.

REVENGE was the artist's debut solo album, released in 2022, and he followed that up with RESULTS the year after. Both records are more than worth your time, but today, I'd like to share his latest offering with you. Introducing Secret Aspects of The New World.

After being approached to soundtrack a short film, Ellery was drawn to the movie's attention to detail and structure. "That drew me in to actually make the soundtrack happen," he admits, and thus began the adventure of crafting a nearly twelve-minute piece of cinematic beauty.

Built around the concept of indeterminacy, where chance and interpretation guide the sound, Ellery's new release is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I've ever heard. A journey through atmosphere and emotion, movement and stillness, it's a composition best absorbed in one go. If you allow it to envelop you in its ebbs and flows, you'll soon find yourself lost in its textures, and you'll feel entirely in the moment - and grateful for it. Sublime!
