ISwoon Reveals a More Hopeful and Radiant Side of The Numb Project
Portland-based producer Chris Calarco has undoubtedly been one of my favourite musical discoveries of the year. Performing under the moniker The Numb Project, I had the pleasure of interviewing the artist earlier this year - and ever since, I've been a firm believer in his mix of downtempo and atmospheric goodness.
ISwoon is Chris' latest offering, and this time he's decided to lean into a more hopeful and radiant soundscape. Fueled by a bouncing arpeggio and a punchy boom bap beat, ISwoon blossoms into one of the musician's most vibrant creations yet. Sunny, laidback, and utterly euphoric, it's a weightless piece of music that wraps itself around the listener like a warm breeze.
Clocking in at just under four minutes, ISwoon is one of the longest tracks I've encountered in The Numb Project's catalogue. And, though that may seem trivial to some, to me it signals growth and evolution. It's the sign of an artist who trusts his ideas and follows the music wherever it takes him - and essentially, that's what we're all about at Savoy Truffle Tunes!
I can't recommend Chris Calarco's art more highly. I love everything he puts out, and ISwoon could be the start of something even more sonically daring on the horizon.
