Prepare to Discover Dan Becker's Tender and Introspective EP Echoes of Silence
I always feel very privileged to hear an artist's work before it's been released to the world. It's like you've been invited into their sonic sanctuary, and every note is a secret, shared only with you.
With that said, I'd like to introduce you to Echoes of Silence, the forthcoming EP courtesy of Massachusetts-based pianist and composer Dan Becker. A delicate and introspective six-track offering, it's a record that finds inspiration in giants like Max Richter, Nils Frahm, and Ólafur Arnalds.
Quiet begins proceedings, and drifts in, in Dan's words, "like a memory half-remembered." It's a gentle introduction - and sets the scene beautifully for the graceful and restrained sounds of Solace.
Penance then steps up to the plate with understated grandeur - both fragile and simultaneously expansive, before the heartbreakingly tender Mercy arrives. An immersive composition, it's a song you feel deep in your bones.
Inside Out and Lullaby round off Echoes of Silence; two creations that I'd like you to explore on your own. Together, they complete a collection of meticulously sculpted pieces that, to be honest, have absolutely blown me away.
