Kazu Osumi’s Times of Love Is a Nostalgia-Laced Reflection on What Time Leaves Behind
Times of Love is the gentle and poignant new offering courtesy of California-based singer/songwriter Kathryn Le, who performs under the moniker Kazu Osumi. A tune about how time changes love - but never erases it, the artist's latest release is a nostalgia-laced and heartfelt little gem. Introspective, emotive, and deeply human, it's a track that beautifully captures the quiet ache of memories.
"It's a bit of a divergence from my first two singles," admits Kathryn. "There is a lot of strictly human instrumentation, which I think is beautiful to witness." I couldn't agree more!
Enlisting the help of session musicians as well as Jane Lui, AKA Surrija, on background vocals, Kazu Osumi drew sonic inspiration from the likes of Eric Clapton and John Mayer for the song's melody. It has that unmistakable tenderness running through its veins - a mellow and unhurried ease that wraps itself around you and refuses to let go.
As the artist's third single to date, Times of Love showcases a musician who's still, perhaps, finding her sound and style. That said, her natural storytelling ability reveals someone who's less guided by labels - and more invested in honest and instinctive expression.
That's what we love here at Savoy Truffle Tunes, and I can't wait to hear what this gifted talent offers up next!
