PSYCHEDELIKA Pt. 1: A Multi-Sensory Adventure Courtesy of The New Citizen Kane

Released last Friday, PSYCHEDELIKA Pt. 1 is the first instalment of Kane Michael Luke's master project. Performing under the moniker The New Citizen Kane, Luke's latest release is a seventeen-track extravaganza that, according to the artist, explores "love, anxiety, philosophy, nightlife, and resilience." Let's jump in!

An endeavour spanning music, design, film, photography, mindfulness, and live performance, PSYCHEDELIKA Pt. 1 is a multi-sensory journey for listeners to step into. A trip through chaos, clarity, denial, desire, and ultimately renewal, every tune has a life and a pulse of its own.

Welcome To Psychedelika is an immersive palate teaser, and dunks the listener into a sea of synths and general upbeatness, before the hard-hitting electro-pop intensity of I Don't Need To Say comes into play.

Here, Now is a song the musician describes as a "meditation on presence in an age of distraction," while its successor, My Muse, delivers a sun-soaked anthem that just hits all the right notes.

At this point, you'll forgive me for not providing a rundown of every track on PSYCHEDELIKA Pt. 1. With thirteen more tunes to discover, it’d take me an essay to do this record justice - and even then, I’d barely scratch the surface. 

What I will say, however, is that it's a remarkable, kaleidoscopic album which deserves your undivided attention. Pure brilliance!
