Keyboard-Driven Hooks Meet Social Commentary on Gerry Farrow and Rue Randall’s Invisible Post
Less than a month ago, I was singing the praises of Gerry Farrow and Rue Randall. Both distinguished songwriters hailing from the East Midlands, they'd just delivered a beautifully poignant tune called Time To Let Her Go. Now, at the time, I mentioned that I really hoped Gerry and Rue would team up again soon…But I never imagined it would happen this quickly - yet here we are!
Delving into the challenges of navigating a digital world and the dangerous effects of cyberbullying, Invisible Post is the pair's socially conscious yet utterly infectious new single. Heavy in meaning yet light on its feet, it drives forward with a catchy keyboard-driven melody and Rue's Springsteen-esque vocals.
Changing lanes for the track's middle section, Gerry enters as a shadowy bully, adding a haunting presence that further deepens the song's narrative. Not just that, it also showcases how truly fearless and skilled these two musicians are - though truthfully, if you haven't picked that up by now, there might be no hope for you.
As the third of five tunes the pair will release, Invisible Post is another superb track that only heightens the excitement for their two remaining offerings. Just outstanding!
