Mick J Clark Covers Serious Sonic Ground on Polished New Album Pole Position

Having recently secured a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music, Croydon-based singer/songwriter Mick J Clark is now looking to build on his growing profile, and that's where Pole Position comes in. Released in November last year, Mick's ten-track album is a sparkling collection of tunes that deliver everything from rock and R&B to heartfelt ballads and a touch of country flair. Describing it as a "hopefully easy listening album," Mick is now eager to see how listeners respond.

The record opens in charming fashion with the delicate sounds of There's Nothing Anybody Can Do. Mick's vocals are beautifully on point, and it's the perfect start to proceedings, before it gently makes way for the summery and breezy textures of My Friend Evonne.

Just Gimmie Some Lovin' has a classic, old-school, rock and roll vibe, while its successor, Honey You're a Fool to Cry, dials things back once more with a wonderfully laidback atmosphere.

Other personal favourites from the album include What Are We Together For, Walking Down 5th Avenue, and the record's simply sensational closer, This Is Where My Heart Belongs. That said, it's an LP that rewards those who take the time to sit with it from beginning to end.
