Last Name Finds Country Star Cali Tucker Owning Her Story - On Her Terms

At the end of last year, I stumbled upon the music of Cali Tucker. An award-winning country artist based in Las Vegas, but with a lineage steeped in Nashville tradition, it was Cali's pop gem, Country Couture, that first caught my attention. Proudly declaring it "a cocktail of passionate country roots with shimmering pop hooks," I instantly fell in love with the tune. And, subsequently, the rest of Tucker's work.

Last Name is Cali's brand new offering, and it's a track that marks a bold chapter in her sonic identity. A tale of chasing one's dreams with relentless passion and determination, the raw and heartfelt piece of music is an anthem for the unseen and unheard. It's also another fine example of Cali's ability to craft emotionally vulnerable songs that are radio-friendly as well. A feat that, in my humble opinion, is what currently sets her apart from the rest.

As the daughter of Billboard-charting country artist LaCosta Tucker and the niece of an even bigger star in Tanya Tucker, Cali has no doubt experienced the double-edged sword of heritage. Through Last Name, however, she doesn't just acknowledge that weight - she reclaims it.
