Mick J Clark Delivers an Anthem of Perseverance on New Tune I Want It More Than You

Mick J Clark is a Croydon-based singer/songwriter who recently popped up on my sonic radar. After exploring his 2025 album Pole Position, I fell in love with the artist's eclectic and wonderfully genre-blending sound.

Since then, I've kept a close eye (and ear) on everything Mick's released, including his most recent EP, Me My Body and I. A four-track offering, today, it's the record's opener I'd like to share with you. Introducing I Want It More Than You.

Upbeat, empowering, and highly anthemic, the tune gives off strong Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers vibes. It's punchy and infectious, yet delivered with a relaxed and easygoing swagger.

Mick's nostalgia-laced vocals infuse the song with a timeless warmth - as he leans into a message of perseverance and mentality. "It might have been the European Championship or World Cup that got my creative mind moving. I love playing football, and I'm someone who never gives up," he says.

Working alongside Martin Smith (Electric Light Orchestra), Mick has concocted another track that doesn't overthink things. And I mean that positively. There's an instinctive, honest quality to his music that simply can't be faked. The real deal? You better believe it!
