Last month, Utrecht-based experimental music project OBLIK OBLOKI delivered their memorable debut single, Eyes and Ears - a highly intriguing and bouncy little tune that is definitely worth your time. For today's review, however, it's OBLIK OBLOKI's brand new single that I'd like to share with you. Allow me to introduce Forever Young.

Rich, shimmering, and utterly infectious, Sonam Plomp and Lennard Vaarten's latest release is the perfect showcase of what the pair do best: building immersive sonic landscapes that are both wonderfully adventurous and easily accessible. Bright and sunny and drenched in a hazy glow, it's that warm retro energy that gives Forever Young its effortlessly charming heartbeat.

Building on the foundations of Eyes and Ears, Forever Young feels like a natural progression. It broadens and refines the project's identity without ever sacrificing its roots - a balance that's key, in my humble opinion, to genuine artistic growth.

OBLIK OBLOKI are here to challenge conventional structures and deliver unique auditory experiences. Now, granted, we're still at the very early stages of this journey, but if the duo's first two delicious offerings are a sign of things to come, I believe we're witnessing the beginnings of something genuinely special.
