Greek singer/songwriter Politis Dimitris is perhaps best known as the frontman for Citizen Jim, a renowned rock act with a love for experimental sounds and eclectic musical influences. Earlier this month, however, Politis decided it was time to unveil some of his solo material, and thus, Politis Dimitris 2.0 was born. Three singles were sent out into the world, but there's one in particular I'd like to shine a light on today: introducing Born Into This.
Grounded in heavy bass and textured guitars, it's a track drenched in rich emotion and filled with sonic depth. A masterful fusion of southern rock tones and a reflective, Jim Morrison-esque vocal performance, Born Into This pulls you in before unleashing moments of smouldering intensity upon you.
Reflecting on how the single turned out, Dimitris explains that "the song was recorded in a large studio in Nashville…you can hear the size of the space…the thick mass of sound…and the powerful drum resonance". You certainly can, indeed!
