Serpico Return With Dressed in Flesh, Their Uncompromising and Potent New Album

Described as their most "uncompromising and authentic album to date," Dressed in Flesh is the raw and unflinching new LP courtesy of Finnish rock renegades Serpico. A nine-track offering of genuine and defiant hard rock, Dressed in Flesh was recorded entirely analogue on magnetic tape under the watchful eye of legendary producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom).

Hard as a Cannonball begins proceedings and immediately plunges the listener into a sea of gritty riffs, soulful bass work, and the classic metal vocals of Vee Dour. It's the perfect opening, and the momentum doesn't dip when its successor, Rock n' Roll is Not Dead, steps up to the plate.

This Song is dark and potent, yet groove-laden and anthemic, while Lightning Strikes once again drags us deeper into the outfit's thunderous sonic terrain.

Other personal favourites from the record include the Maiden-esque Iron Boots, the powerful Out of the Grave, and the album's flawless closer, Mayday

That said, Dressed in Flesh - and the band themselves - refuse to be reduced to modern, streaming-era soundbites. That's what makes them special - they're not here for shortcuts or helping hands - they're dedicated to their craft and willing to fight to be heard. Just my kind of group!
