Snake charmer Sees Moon Construction Kit Blend Baroque Pop and Indie Mystique

Snake charmer is the rich and cinematic new single courtesy of Moon Construction Kit, a solo project serving as the sonic playground of Swiss singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Olivier Cornu. A gripping and slightly eerie offering, Olivier's latest release blends elements of baroque-pop, alternative rock, and indie to create a boundary-pushing, beautifully inventive piece of music. A little psychedelic, a little otherworldly, Snake charmer moves with elegance and grace.

"With Snake charmer, I was aiming for a vibe that feels like a fairground at night," says Olivier. "Something beautiful, but a little bit haunting." Mission accomplished, as far as I'm concerned!

Making use of a glassy piano and a Mellotron, Olivier infuses his most recent tune with a lush 60s psych-pop sound. Lyrically, however, Snake charmer takes a far more clinical approach. Exploring the unsettling realisation that the cure you're following, be it a person or a pill, is actually the problem, the track is a perfect balance of hypnotic instrumentation and sharp psychological observation.

As his first release of 2026, it feels like Moon Construction Kit is making a statement - one of confidence, intent, and unshakable creative vision. Yup, you guessed it, I simply can't wait to hear from Olivier Cornu again!
