The Del-Viles Turn Up the Heat on Sharp and Gritty Debut Album It’s Just a Kiss-Off
Hailing from Minneapolis, The Del-Viles are a three-piece outfit who've just unleashed their raw, loud, and seriously impressive debut album, It's Just a Kiss-Off. A ten-track offering of highly danceable garage rock, it's a record that takes its cues from 60s Mod and 2000s revival. "Simple," as the band say, but at the same time, remarkably sharp and gritty in its execution.
The City gets the ball rolling unapologetically. A fierce and fiery piece of music, it sets the tone for the rest of the album.
What You Got then steps up to the plate with a bluesy swagger and a stomping groove that feels tailor-made for packed, sweaty bars, before giving way for the smoky, infectious sounds of Two-Tone Dress.
Wild is another barnstormer of a tune, and really showcases Daniel Robert Collins's prowess on the drums, while its successor, If I Might, If I May, delivers a high-energy blast of fuzzed-out riffs that just hit all the right spots!
With five more tracks left to go, I'd rather not spoil the ride that lies ahead for you.
It feels only fair to now hand the reins over to The Del-Viles and let the record do the talking. All I'll say is that I'm quickly falling in love with this powerful, potent album!
