Social Gravy Channel Raw Studio Energy on Hard-Hitting New Single Get Away

Towards the end of last year, I stumbled upon an EP called A Different Kind. Courtesy of Los Angeles-based indie rock duo Social Gravy, I instantly fell in love with the four-track offering, and it led me to take a deeper dive into their discography. What I discovered was two musicians making music on their own terms - not interested in chasing trends, but guided by conviction and authenticity.

Though released in 2020, A Different Kind primed me for Social Gravy's forthcoming EP, The Pebble. The duo have already unleashed the first single from said EP, but today it's the second, Get Away, that I'd like to introduce you to.

Gritty, anthemic, and laced with that classic indie-rock energy, Get Away is a tune that, in my humble opinion, must be played at full volume. The sludgy, "modern leaning" grunge song wraps its heaviness around a strong melodic core, and finds that perfect sweet spot between accessibility and forcefulness.

Tracked live at Stagg Street Studios, Get Away has a lived-in feel. It's the sound of two artists in full flow, feeding off the moment, and locked in with one another. Potent, hard-hitting, and stamped with that unmistakable Social Gravy identity, it seriously whet's the appetite for The Pebble. Scheduled for release sometime this year, it's an EP that can't come soon enough!
