St. Divine’s New Kind of Kick Is Raw, Restless, and Ready to Burn
Last Friday, an eclectic New York City-based five-piece called St. Divine delivered their debut EP. Titled you can't go forward and you can't go back, the seven-track offering is causing quite a stir among music circles for its blend of raw, gritty, and inventive arrangements.
New Kind of Kick is the EP's opening tune, and it's a wild and raucous piece of music I'd like to introduce you to today. Let's dive in, shall we?
A twangy and eerie start, it's not long before Will Croxton and Judy Ann Nock's distinctly haunting and potent vocals make their appearance. Sucking the listener into their dark and intriguing soundscape, St. Divine conjure up a beautifully unsettling sonic universe, where every element is charged with electricity and intensity. It's pure, undiluted artistry, wrapped in a blazing storm of grit and grace.
Helmed by Will Croxton, a melomaniac with a love for punk rock and Americana, and Judy Ann Nock, a singer/songwriter and best-selling author, St. Divine offer something different and refreshing. They're here to make a noise and demand to be heard. Thankfully, they've also got the chops to back up their sonic rebellion.
