Sweet Mess Stake Their Claim With Fiery Debut Single Midnight Knows my Name

Having recently mentioned that 2026 got off to a very rocky start, the year clearly isn’t interested in calming down any time soon. From raw and gritty anthems to classic metal sorchers, we have been proud to cover an extensive array of hard-hitting releases - and that's where Midnight Knows my Name earns its place in the lineup.

Courtesy of an Arizona-based outfit called Sweet Mess, the band's debut single is a fiery and riff-driven statement of intent. Unapologetically loud and packed with raw conviction, it's a tune that, if you'll excuse my French, cuts through all the bullshit with superb precision!

"Midnight Knows my Name is about not being able to fall asleep and all the things that go through your mind that keep you from falling asleep," says the act. "It was written about Sylvie (lead singer), but it seems to be a common thing for other women as well."

Primarily a tribute act, Sweet Mess decided it was time to shift from celebrating the greats and stake their own claim. They've done that and then some with their debut offering. 

Produced at Mind's Eye Studio alongside Larry Elyea (Jimmy Eat World), Midnight Knows my Name is the first of three singles that Sweet Mess recently recorded - and it sets the bar thrillingly high for what's to follow!
