Talon David’s Paradise State of Mind Is an Upbeat Remedy for Restless Souls

Released just a few hours ago, Paradise State of Mind is the relentlessly bright and upbeat new single from South West London–based singer/songwriter and producer Talon David. Pieced together entirely by the artist, Talon's latest release was actually penned during the COVID-19 pandemic. With an overwhelming need to travel and explore, the musician crafted the tune to be, in her words, "a tad of a lifeline for tackling restlessness until we could travel again."

A baritone ukulele serves as the track's dominant instrument. It's a unique approach, but one that pays off, giving the song a warm and throaty tropical sound. Add a ton of background vocals to Talon's already shimmering performance, and what you get is an expertly produced summery pop gem that balances personal reflection with breezy optimism.

Recorded over the last five years in the various home studios Talon built throughout the US and the UK, Paradise State of Mind is a fun-loving and carefree ditty. In less than three minutes, the artist has been able to deliver a shining little postcard from the days of isolation - filled with hope, charm, and sincerity.
