The Goodbye Radio Bend Time with Warm New Single Twisted Time Travelers
Twisted Time Travelers is quickly becoming one of my favourite new tunes, and that's not a statement I make lightly. Courtesy of New York-based outfit The Goodbye Radio, the retro and harmony-laden track serves as the second single from the band's forthcoming album In This Sleeping City. Featuring chiming guitars, warm, layered vocals, and an overall aura of timelessness and class, Twisted Time Travelers feels like a song pulled from the past and perfectly polished for today's ears.
Speaking to the meaning behind their latest release, songwriter and vocalist Mike Aronow explains that it's about "two people who once fell in love, but are now cursed to be out of sync - forever missing each other by a breath". Romantic, tragic, yet strangely hopeful too, the short story sings of time's cruel rhythm, and showcases a narrative flair that few acts can match.
Inspired by the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Big Star, and early R.E.M., The Goodbye Radio's roots run deep in the New York music scene. Formerly known as Endgames, the outfit is now back with a renewed sense of purpose. And, I've also been reliably informed, many more new tunes are up their sleeve!
