Unexpected Turns and Hypnotic Grooves Define Stratafield’s New Single Qubits

Atlanta-based DJ and guitarist Peter Lewman is the brains behind Stratafield, a genre-bending and innovative project that feels refreshingly difficult to pin down. With a love for jazz, electronica, and alternative rock, Peter's music rarely follows an expected path - and nowhere is that more apparent than on his latest single, Qubits. An instrumental, progressive house offering, it's a tune I am proud to share with you today!

Airy and intriguing straight off the bat, Qubits wastes no time in washing over the listener with waves of gentle synths and detailed drum work. Slowly ascending, inch by inch, the track eventually breaks out into a jumpy, almost playful groove that, truthfully, took me by surprise at first. It's unexpected. But if you stick with it, things begin to lock into place, Peter's genius starts to shine through, and it's not long before you're completely immersed in the journey.

Accompanying Stratafield's new release is an ambitious four-act music video, one the artist had mapped out in his mind before even completing the track.

"I had the whole journey in my head while I was writing the music - from the qubits to that last shot inside the mudskipper's eye," explains Peter. "It's really one idea told in two languages at once, music and video."

Compelling, powerful, and utterly hypnotic, everything about Qubits feels like the work of someone unafraid to explore - and I'll always have time for that!
